Out with the old, In with the new!

Happy new year..!
I know it is not the first day of the year but why should that stop us from enjoying the prospect of a "new" year by wishing and celebrating it's coming? I give myself up until the end of december to celebrate. 30 days in front of 365 seem to be part of the new, no?
